First-choice XI

Dean Henderson Not a save required during the opening 45 until forced to intervene from an opponent's bent shot. One well-timed sliding tackle on an Albanian attacker highlighted sharp anticipation. 6/10

John Stones Pushed forward with the ball at his feet, something he's known for previously. At times was too casual when carrying play and the tactic was shelved by the interval. 6/10

The tall defender Always dangerous from dead balls, as always, could serve as a replacement for his teammate in the backline rather than alongside him. A loose distribution later in the match almost led to a goal for the visitors. 6/10

The young full-back A further composed display from the youngster after his initial appearance versus Serbia. Saka was unable to take the most of a gorgeous touch over their defense. His position is his to lose so soon. 7/10

Adam Wharton A debut start for his country. Somewhat careless on the ball but his whipped deliveries posed a danger. A handy game manager for the coach to utilize versus defensive opponents. Booked for a rash challenge. Six

Declan Rice Crosses from corners and set-plays created chances. Had room to drift on the left only to be in an offside position upon receiving in front of goal. Given a deserved break on the hour mark. 6

Jude Bellingham Played in an advanced spot on the right and also put in defensive duties. Demonstrated moments of class and dragged an attempt over. Withdrawn in the closing stages by a teammate, his rival, following a yellow card. 7/10

The winger Was presented with England’s best chance before halftime, his shot excellently kept out from Thomas Strakosha. As Quansah staying deep, he was forced to offer an outlet down the right side although his balls from wide areas were inconsistent. Taken off late in the match. 6

Harry Kane The decisive figure netting 77th and 78th finishes at international level. The first a trademark close-range tap-in and his next a classy headed goal after peeling away off his defender. At 32, his form is unwavering and the side are strong contenders next summer when he's in the team. 8

Eberechi Eze Had difficulty to make an impact out wide. Had a presentable chance when set up by the midfielder but Strakosha made the save. Rashford had a greater effect after coming on. 5/10
